The nearly three-year-long production of Cursed Image began in August of 2021 as a series of field recordings collected on an iPhone. As Talking Circles, Patrick Murphy took to manipulating raw sounds and acoustic elements to create an eerie and unrelenting journey through a nocturnal landscape. Peppered with gritty artifacts, smooth guitars, and meticulously crafted percussion, Cursed Image blends natural order with artificial chaos. “This EP was meant to sound like a place; A forest at night after a long rain. It’s wet and dark and there’s bugs and creatures all around. It’s a little uncomfortable but strangely familiar.”
